care guide

Please read our recommended care guide carefully. Many of our pieces are made from natural timbers, fibres and organic materials. We recommend that all of our home decor and furniture pieces are kept indoors or under cover in outdoor areas positioned away from the elements such as rain, wind and direct sunlight.

RATTAN

To clean your rattan piece we recommend using a warm slightly damp cloth, no chemical based products are to be used. Regular dusting and vacuuming will sustain the longevity of your rattan piece. Linseed oil or a high- grade bee’s wax could also be applied lightly to polish and nourish the rattan. In the circumstance that your rattan piece gets wet leave outside to dry away from direct sunlight.

TEAK

Our teak pieces are hand made by our artisans. Each individual piece varies and embraces its raw unique timber grains, textures, surfaces, colours and imperfections enhance the authentic beauty of each piece.

Teak timber contains natural oils after time it may fade. After some time slight cracks may appear. This is the inheritance and style of the timber. If you prefer the warmer colouring of the teak wood we recommend a teak sealer rather than using a teak oil. This may be used to maintain the original colour and slow down the fading process.

OTHER NATURAL FIBERS

Some of the natural fibers and grasses used in the making of some of our pieces like our fringe "tulum" placemats/coasters or our "mendong" mirror may become a bit messy/crinkly if stored away for long periods of time. In order to fix the "fiber hairs", you can use a light steamer to iron out any creases. Alternatively, you can also spray a few spritzes of water, and leave in the sun to dry for a few minutes, but please be mindful not to leave in direct sunlight for extended periods.

MACRAMES & TEXTILES

Our cotton macrames, plant hangers, wall hangings, and other textiles can be spot cleaned using cold water and gentle soap. Due to the handmade nature of our items, you may see small imperfections such as loose threads. Do not pull loose threads, instead use scissors to carefully cut away any loose strings.
